What I do:
I help people protect their ideas. By working closely with innovative clients of all sizes, I help them develop and manage their patent portfolios. My work covers a wide range of technologies, including medical devices and software, pharmaceuticals and drug delivery, chemicals and polymers, electronic control systems and manufacturing equipment, consumer products and fashion, and industrial designs.

Why Cooley:
Cooley’s collegial and fast-paced environment attracts and retains top-tier professionals that are invested in the success of our clients. My colleagues and I collaborate across offices and practice areas to provide clients with attentive service and efficient, pragmatic advice.

What my clients value:
My clients value my personal involvement, creative problem solving, and reliability, as well as my diverse technical experience and legal expertise. I work as a counselor and strategic adviser to my clients, and they know they can call me any time they have a question or need advice. My clients also know that I am as invested as they are in building and growing their intellectual property.

I love spending time with my family, whether it is camping, traveling, or just playing a board game. I also enjoy the outdoors and extreme wilderness experiences – I once spent a month in the desert with just a cup, a knife, and the clothes on my back.

Great reads:
Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey, The Martian by Andy Weir, Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know by Ranulph Fiennes, and The Pleasure of Finding Things Out by Richard Feynman

I root for:
The Mets, Big Red Hockey, USWNT, and the Utah Jazz (even without Karl Malone and John Stockton – you never forget your first team).
