What I do:
I work with fast-growing clients of all sizes, from small startups to successful public companies, as general outside corporate counsel. The common threads running through the companies I work with are super-smart management teams, fast growth, disruptive business models and technology innovation. My areas of focus include corporate formation, venture capital financings, public offerings, corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions.
We have the best people, hands down. They and our fabulous clients are why I have been here for over 20 years.
What my clients value:
That we view ourselves as part of the management team and not just as an outside service provider. We demand of ourselves what our clients demand of themselves: innovation, creativity, pragmatism, responsiveness and efficiency.
Some of my clients:
99designs, Abaxis, AppSense, Atara Biotherapeutics, Axiom Global, Bay Dynamics, Deep Fork Capital, GCA Savvian, Institutional Venture Partners, July Systems, Kollective Technology, Mu Sigma, Nora Therapeutics, ShotSpotter, Smarty Ants, Speakr, Stitch Fix, Tableau Software, TriNet Group, United Online
When I’m not being a Cooley lawyer:
These days I am trying to spend as much time as I can with my three teenagers, Anna, Nathan and Andrew, before they all leave the nest for good. Other than that, my pursuits tend to combine my right-brain artistic skills with my left-brain project management skills. I sing with and serve on the board of a 50-voice women’s chorus called WomenSing (www.womensing.org). I spend a lot of time designing and making custom items of clothing. I also love to cook extravagant meals for friends and family.
