What I do:
I represent fast-growing companies of all sizes, from small startups to big public companies, as general outside corporate counsel. I also represent private company investors as deal counsel. Whether in the context of entity incorporations/formations, deals (venture capital financing, public offering, merger or acquisition, recapitalization, or other strategic transaction), or general day-to-day corporate matters arising in a client’s business, I work collaboratively with my clients and opposing counsel to achieve our shared business objectives, while trying to reduce legal and business risk.
Why Cooley:
Because of our people, who are passionate about solving legal and business problems in a collaborative and pragmatic way, and because of our diverse mix of clients, big and small, who are focused on innovation, growth, and disrupting their industries.
What my clients value:
Open and honest communication; direct practical advice that considers their circumstances, strategic focus, relative leverage, and available resources, as well as their current stage of growth and future plans; responsiveness and efficiency.
Likes:
iPhone photography (i.e., Instagram), GIFs, high-top sneakers, nice bags, a good sense of humor and laughing loudly, art and music of almost any genre, good coffee, and wine.
Great reads:
The House of Spirits by Isabel Allende, One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, and Beloved by Toni Morrison.
I root for:
Tolerance, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Wait, was this asking about sports?!
